Welcome to United SA Pitbull Registry.

The American Pit Bull Terrier is a descendant of the original English bull-baiting Bulldog and has historically been bred with working/performance goals in mind. The challenge of describing the American Pit Bull Terrier inevitably invites a long sequence of superlatives. The APBT is an extremely athletic, highly versatile, adaptive, affectionate, eager-to-please, all-around family dog. In courage, resolve, indefatigableness, indifference to pain, and stubborn perseverance in overcoming any challenge, the APBT has no equal in the canine world. Although the APBT was once used as a national symbol of courage and pride, the breed is largely misunderstood today.

Registration is important for any purebred dog as a means to track the validity of the purebred status. Our mission is to protect and preserve the APBT in its original form. How we do this is to register the APBT and guarantee there purebred status. We can only achieve this with the honesty of the breeders .

The Role of a Registration body.

An accurate stud book is essential for breeders who carefully plan breedings and are diligent in the selection of quality brood stock. Without a true pedigree behind the stock, there would be no way to predict what type of offspring will be produced and/or assure that quality dogs would be produced for the future. Every registration office throughout time has had to rely on the integrity of the breeders who submit paperwork into the office for the accuracy of the studbook. This is true of equine, bovine and canine registries alike.

Having an animal “Registered” is a stamp of approval from the Registration Office that the breeder has fulfilled the requirements in record keeping, transferring ownership’s etc. and the pedigree can be deemed accurate. If a registry is strictly “in it for the money” and has little or No requirements, and any dog rescued from the pound stolen or it “looks like pit bull on visual inspection can be registered for a fee, then having a “Registered” dog with that organization means nothing! We want your registration to mean something and you can be sure that when you register with the USAPR United SA Pitbull Registry. Your registration will!

The USAPR reserves the right to void these papers at any time in the event of fraudulent application and / or protest of purebred status is proven.
